Circles...Dots...Spots is a playful intervention at the Altona North library and references the circular windows and relief detail on the library’s facade and the dots on the carpet leading to the children’s collection.

The circle is a universal symbol which amongst other things embodies the idea of time and change and also the idea of family and community.

My hope is that the work will subtly shift during the course of the day and change as the viewer moves past it.

The key ideas that underpin the work are notions of space time and light in the context of this particular site and how each informs the other.  Notions of transparency and layers are explored as a means to create simple optical effects including colour spill and reflection with the intention of engaging the viewer in active looking.
